WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
The most important aspect of studying abroad for me was that I became fluent in Spanish. Being fully immersed in the language and living in a house that only spoke Spanish forced me to learn it. All of my classes during the semester were in Spanish too! I became much more confident in myself and my capabilities from my study abroad semester.
HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
When I studied abroad, I volunteered at a local school in Spain teaching English. I got to learn more about the kids, and the kids about us as we all grew in language learning throughout the semester. In addition, I lived with a host family during the semester, and I spent a lot of time with their family!
